SORTING SOCKS Poetry by ELLEN WADE BEALS Is anything more sublime? It means you have feet, two things with toes, creased and smelly. It means you have socks, more than one complete pair, else why sort? It means you have the means to wash them: water, soap, time. It means they're dry, ready to wear again. It means you have a certain ease of living, no primitive schedule keeping you tied to the rock by the side of the creek. *We recommend reading poems with proper formatting*
